Likewise is a diptych consisting of shifting associational pairs of images, words, and references. The central figure in the piece is the pause symbol; one line next to the other. The function of the pause button is to remove us from of a stream of video. It allows us to interrupt and insert our own lives into the flow. The two lines also reminded me of September 11, 2001; both of the twin towers and the number 11. By clicking one side or the other the viewer modulates through a series of coupled pairs.
