‘Touch and Go: The Interactive Guide to Perambulatory Anomalies’ is a public interactive animation that explores the secret life of the airport icon. Touching the screen sends our hero, Simon the Signman, on another random encounter with the hazards and pitfalls of his flatland existence. This nod to the screwball era of silent film animates the deadpan characters that have become well known to today’s airport dwellers. It was a piece designed to engage an audience in an airport with short, funny silent videos that could be understood in any language.

This piece was created as part of Year Zero One‘s Terminal Zero One installation at the Toronto International Airport in 2007 – 2008.
